Many people will never be able to return, so I tried to capture this love and sadness on the canvas. Black, white, and gray colors, supplemented with gold, create a contrast that is the key to the depth of this painting. Black and gray shades symbolize the past, while white sheds light and instills hope. Gold, in turn, adds a touch of warmth—beams of light that, like a beacon, help everyone find their home.
